One event, several printed pieces

A single event usually needs a flyer for the bulletin board, a bigger poster for the window, a program for the night itself, and invitations for the people you most want there. In BrochureBoss they are all built the same way, with text frames, pictures, and shapes, so a headline and a color scheme carry from one piece to the next.

Shapes support stroke, rotation, opacity, corner radius, and gradient fills, so you can build a banner or a badge without any other software. Rulers, guides, and snapping keep everything lined up, and you can group items and align or distribute them in one click.

Templates to start from

Five of the twelve templates cover most events.

  • Event flyer

Letter portrait with big type and a gradient banner, such as the Summer Block Party sample.

  • Event poster

Tabloid (11 x 17 inches) with one loud message and a lot of room for the headline.

  • Bi-fold program

A quiet, serif layout for a concert, a ceremony, or a recital.

  • Postcard

6 x 4 inches with merge fields, for personalized invitations.

  • Mailing labels

Thirty per sheet, with merge fields ready for the guest list.

Invitations and multi-page programs

For invitations, load a CSV of guests, put fields such as first name and city into the text, and step through the records on screen before you print. The app warns you about fields with no matching column. Merge and print runs one copy per record, up to 500 per print run.

For a longer program, add pages and tick Booklet when you print: pages go out in fold-and-staple order, and blanks are added to reach a multiple of four. If the art runs to the edge of the paper, turn on bleed and crop marks.

Flyer to finished PDF

  1. Pick the piece

Choose Event flyer, Event poster, Bi-fold program, or Postcard from Templates.

  2. Say what, when, and where

Replace the headline and details, add a photo or logo, and put the what, when, and where in the biggest type.

  3. Check and print

Run Check, then Print / PDF and Save as PDF. Fonts embed so the printer sees what you saw.

Straight talk: BrochureBoss makes the printed pieces. It does not handle ticketing, RSVPs, or event listings, and it does not print for you. Colors are RGB, so a shop that needs CMYK separations converts them.

Questions

  • Can I make an event flyer in BrochureBoss?

Yes. The Event flyer template is a Letter portrait page with big type and a gradient banner. Replace the words, add your pictures, and save a PDF.

  • What size can I make a poster?

The Event poster template is Tabloid, 11 x 17 inches. You can also type custom page dimensions.

  • Can I make a folded program?

Yes. Start from the Bi-fold program, add pages as needed, and tick Booklet when you print for fold-and-staple page order.

  • Can I send personalized invitations?

Yes. Use the Postcard template, load a CSV, and merge one printed copy per record. It warns you about fields that have no matching column.

  • Will it print to the edge of the paper?

Turn on bleed for art that runs off the edge, and crop marks with a slug line for the print shop. Many home printers cannot print to the edge, so a print shop is the better choice for full-bleed work.

  • Can I reuse last year’s Publisher flyer?

Yes. Use Import .pub, then update the date and details. The import is an editable approximation, and the app lists anything it skipped. See how to open a .pub file without Publisher.
