Microsoft is retiring Publisher in October 2026.

It disappears from Microsoft 365. Copies you already own keep opening, but they stop getting updates and support. Your .pub files don't vanish, they just stop having a program behind them.

Straight talk: .pub import gets your content out. It will not match every effect Publisher applied. We'd rather say that now than in a review later.
